I write poems and short stories, a fair few of which have been   published in magazines and anthologies. I also write occasional articles and blogs. Find out more about me here, read some examples of my fiction and poetry or get in touch.

I teach English and creative writing and have been doing so for nearly twenty years in various contexts – universities, colleges, schools, libraries and prisons.  I currently teach at Edinburgh Napier University.

I’m interested in reading as well as writing, both personally and professionally. I’ve run and researched reading groups in a variety of settings and written about their benefits. I run the monthly Nothing But the Poem reading groups at the Scottish Poetry Library.

I’m currently available to run creative writing workshops and reading groups in the community or in schools.
